Does Your Office Still Have These Old Staples?
In-the-wild testing is all about the real world and real circumstances. Part of what makes in-the-wild testing so important is that those real circumstances are always changing. Take, for example, these 10 office stapes that are expected to disappear in the next five years:
- Tape recorders
- Fax machines
- The Rolodex
- Standard working hours
- Desk phones
- Desktop computers
- Formal business attire
- The corner office for managers/executives
- Cubicles
- USB thumb drives
That list, reported by TechCrunch, comes from a LinkedIn survey that got the opinion of more than 7,000 people in 18 countries. As for my office, we still have numbers 5, 8, 9 and 10 … for now.
It just goes to show you that what once was the norm can quickly fad away. That’s why it’s important to test your products in the actual real word, instead of just making assumptions about the real world.
